The United States has the most complete standard system for crib products, with faster updates and increasingly stricter requirements. The amendments to the 16 CFR 1217 final rule came into effect on January 27, 2020. According to the regulatory requirements, toddler beds need to comply with the relevant provisions of ASTM F1821-19e1 Consumer Safety Standard Specification for Toddler Beds. The standard requires that any bed can accommodate a full-size crib. Padded, with a minimum length of 51-558 inches (1310 mm) and a minimum width of 27-114 inches (690 mm), which can be freely accessed by children aged 15 months or younger and weighing 50 pounds (27.7 kg) or less. It also discusses The extended corner posts may catch children's clothing.
EU standards have separate regulations for cribs of different scopes and sizes. BS EN 1130:2019 is applicable to cribs with an internal length ≤900mm, and BS EN 716-1/-2:2017 is applicable to domestic children's cribs with an internal length of 900mm to 1400mm. Both standards require that edges, protrusions, and chamfers that are accessible to infants during normal use must be free of burrs or sharp edges. The two standards have certain differences in the requirements for casters and mounting holes.
Canadian Standard SOR/2016-152, in addition to defining cribs, bassinets, and bassinets, also defines structural safety, side height, total lead content, required warnings, declaration labels, flammability standards, manufacturers Or importer's requirements are stipulated.
